Smithing is one of the 19 skills in Guilds of Gods. It relates to turning ores gathered in mining into usable items. It is currently the only way to get most higher tier items, as shops will generally only sell up to iron tier equipment. When paired with mining it is also an excellent way of gaining gold.
Smithing also includes the experience gained for smelting ores into bars
Tools and Bars[]
The EXP column is the exp for smelting a bar, or smithing a single bar. A plate body which uses 5 bars will give 5x that experience as a drop.

Training Strategy[]
Bags, early and often! This uses a whole lot of cloth to train, but makes smithing a lot more enjoyable. The good thing is you will always have them if you find you need to go back and make more equipment later on. A coal bag in particular is probably the best value bag you could make, as it is used to train from 20 onwards, through all the higher tiers of smithing.
First concentrate on getting one character to 60 Smithing, then having a few early levels all around can be useful, in case you just need a couple of a lower tier good on a different adventurer.
Concentrate on making tools to help you with your other skill grinds, particularly copper and steel pickaxes, and osmium picks and axes. Having made more of them than you think you need, start making arrowheads. It's less experience but allows you to train your fletching as well as providing much needed arrows for ranged training.
